canonically speaking, there can be a total of 14-17 canon supports; including Byleth, their Lord and another Lord from a different house, 15 maximum if DLC characters are included. so, there are:
- 8 charas from their house of origin including the Lord and Byleth;
- 1 Lord and 1 character from another house; 2-3 for another house and can reach a maximum of 5 for the last house, 2-3 for the Church of Seiros members; and 1 character from DLC with a Paired Ending.
- 3-4 canon charas only reach up to B/B+ support with OC, the rest can reach A/A+ and have a Paired Ending.
- if OC is a Lord, they simply dont have a support with another Lord, which means one less support chain than the students.
if OC is a Church of Seiros member, they can have a total 11-13 canon supports; including Byleth, 1-2 Lords, 4-7 students, and 3-6 Church of Seiros members.
- OC can have support with 1-3 students from each house
- 1-5 canon charas only reach up to B/B+ support with OC, the rest can reach A/A+ and have a Paired Ending.
support lines generally range from 25-35 dialogue lines roughly.
only one follow-up support (the + sign) per support chain.
